Welcome to the Media Centre
The Durham District School Board Professional Library and Media Centre has the robust mandate to provide informational and technical needs for staff and students.
By visiting the professional library, teachers and staff have access to thousands of acquisitions related to teaching and learning. While using our services, teachers may borrow books, kits, professional journals and magazines. We pride ourselves on having a collection that meets the needs of teachers in the 21st century. This collection has the ultimate goal of providing information for/to teachers that will aid in the quest for student success, and life-long learning.
Our Media Centre provides staff, administrators and teachers with many services and tools required in a 21st century school. The Loans Pool has numerous pieces of technology that can be booked by staff to use in Professional Development opportunities, in their classrooms and in schools. Items like laptops, document cameras, sound equipment and more can be borrowed by all DDSB staff. We also offer numerous services like shape cutting, laminating, video editing, and video class/workshops for students.
The media department also provides mail and courier services for the entire DDSB community. Along with courier mail, our department takes pride in shipping learning materials throughout the district.
All materials can be booked through the MediaNet system either in by clicking on this title from the Quicklinks Menu on the DDSB Portal or by visiting http://media.ddsb.ca

Avoiding Late Charges
Medianet items must be back in the Media Centre by the due date to avoid late charges ($1 for each school day an item is late note that each book in a novel set is considered one item). Since the courier pick up is in the morning ensure items are in the red courier bag by the end of the day previous to the due date to make sure items are back on time.
